Clemson fans now have to sweat out the rest of the weekend and see how the bubble shakes up around them. Their loss to NC State in the 8-9 matchup of the ACC tournament means they have no more chances to impress the committee, and BracketBot has gone as far as to take them out of the bracket entirely. It’s a big drop to be sure, with them falling behind eight different teams with the course of this one loss, and I don’t 100% know why the algorithm dropped them so far, but it does I think accurately reflect where Clemson sits at the moment – just barely on the outside looking in.

Last Four Byes: Arizona State, Ole Miss, NC State, Temple
Last Four In: Seton Hall, Ohio State, St John’s, Creighton
First Four Out: Clemson, Nebraska, Florida, Oregon
Next Four Out: Indiana, Davidson, Belmont, Dayton

Bids by conference:
ACC/Big XII/Big Ten 8, SEC 6, Big East 5, AAC 4, Pac-12/MWC/WCC 2

Full bracket: note that three Big East teams are listed in the Last Four In; according to the bracketing principles put out by the NCAA, a team shouldn’t be moved in or out of the First Four based on how they fit into the bracket, so there would necessarily be a conference matchup there. In this case, St John’s and Creighton would face off to be the #12 seed in the Midwest region.
