I’ve made some changes to the way BracketBot picks teams for this update, so a lot of teams have moved seed lines. In short, I had previously tried to have a bracket as it would look if the season ended today, but going forward I’m going to let BracketBot correct a little bit for what it expects to happen the rest of the way. Several teams rising on the board as a result are Nebraska (9 -> 6), Wisconsin (11 -> 9) and NC State (last team in -> 10).

Three new teams in the bracket today after that retooling and a big slate of Saturday results. Butler, San Francisco and Baylor all had big wins yesterday, over St. John’s, BYU and Texas Tech respectively, to vault into the field. USF and Butler were the first two teams left out on Friday, and are returners to this bracket, but Baylor is making their first appearance and was not even on the radar last time around. Eight teams from the Big XII in this edition, which is probably not sustainable, but it would be insane.

The teams falling out are Seton Hall, Temple and Alabama. Only the Hall took a tough loss last night, losing to DePaul to bump them all the way out from the #10 line. Temple hasn’t played since Wednesday, so they’re a victim of the numbers game, and Alabama played Tennessee pretty close, so they didn’t take a huge hit either.

Last Four Byes: St John’s, Arizona State, Indiana, Washington
Last Four In: Butler, Minnesota, San Francisco, Baylor
First Four Out: Seton Hall, St. Mary’s, Toledo, Florida
Next Four Out: Temple, Alabama, Fresno State, Utah State

Bids by conference:
Big Ten 10, Big XII/ACC 8, SEC 6, Big East 4, Pac-12/AAC 3, WCC 2
